Rite Aid was slapped with a data breach class action on Sept. 6 in Pennsylvania Eastern District Court. The suit, which accuses the defendant of failing to implement adequate data security measures, arises from a May 2023 breach impacting the personal identifiable and protected health information of approximately 24,000 former and current Rite Aid customers. The complaint is backed by Milberg Coleman Bryson Phillips Grossman. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 2:23-cv-03473, Gregory v. Rite Aid Corporation.
