A Pennsylvania federal judge granted Sesame Place parent company SeaWorld’s motion to dismiss negligence claims, but allowed racial discrimination claims to proceed in a class action alleging employees dressed as Sesame Street characters refused to interact with Black and Hispanic children during parade and “Meet and Greet” events at the theme park.

U.S. District Judge Wendy Beetlestone of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania granted SeaWorld’s motion to dismiss the majority of negligence claims against the company, after a group of plaintiffs filed a class action alleging they were racially discriminated against at Sesame Place.
