Four prominent Latinx members of the Pennsylvania legal community spoke Monday about the ways their heritages have impacted their work and careers, in a panel celebrating the creation of Temple University’s first Latinx professorship.

U.S. District Chief Judge Juan Sanchez of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania recalled his arrival to New York from Puerto Rico as a child who did not speak English. Sanchez observed the challenges facing his community, which motivated him to become a lawyer.
