Weitz & Luxenberg filed a consumer class action Friday in Pennsylvania Eastern District Court against Chicco USA Inc. over the alleged presence of harmful flame retardant and per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances in its child car seat products. The lawsuit accuses Chicco of misleading consumers by representing its products as ‘free of added chemicals’ despite its best-selling line of car seat products containing flame retardant chemicals and PFAs. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 5:22-cv-02586, Seidl v. Chicco USA, Inc.
