The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania sanctioned two attorneys and two corrections officers in a civil lawsuit after they allegedly “provided evasive, inaccurate, and incomplete responses to discovery requests.”

Plaintiff Corey Bracey, a prisoner at the State Correctional Institution at Greene, alleged a violation of his Eighth Amendment rights when the defendants allegedly used excessive force during an escort to medical triage. Bracey claims there was a separation order in place, instructing the two officers, Corey Valencia and Christopher Colgan, not to have any contact with Bracey during an investigation of his complaints of abuse by them, according to the court’s May 18 opinion.
