In light of the increased controversy regarding potential discipline for University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School professor Amy Wax, who has been in the spotlight after making disparaging comments regarding Asian Americans, Penn Law Dean Theodore Ruger released a statement Tuesday saying he plans to initiate sanctions.

In a letter addressed to Penn Law students, faculty and staff, Ruger said: “Taking [Wax’s] public behavior, prior complaints, and more recent complaints together, I have decided it is my responsibility as Dean to initiate the University procedure governing sanctions taken against a faculty member.”
