A Fayette County lawyer, whose practice included occasional work as a city solicitor and part-time district attorney, is facing criminal charges for allegedly misappropriating nearly a quarter-million dollars in client funds.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania on Monday announced charges against John William Eddy, a 39-year-old lawyer from Uniontown, Pennsylvania. According to the announcement, Eddy is accused of misappropriating $242,975 in client money from his Interest on Lawyer Trust Account, also referred to as IOLTA.
