The Montgomery County prosecutor’s office has filed a petition with the U.S. Supreme Court to review a ruling by Pennsylvania’s highest court that earlier this year overturned the conviction of disgraced actor and comedian Bill Cosby.

District Attorney Kevin Steele filed an appeal late Monday, saying the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s June decision to toss Cosby’s conviction on procedural grounds raised questions about the 14th Amendment, which bars the state from depriving anyone of life, liberty or property without proper due process.
