The announcement comes after an extremely close margin between Crompton's and Dumas's vote tally from the General Election triggered a state-mandated recount. As of Nov. 10, when the recount was ordered, unofficial returns submitted to the Department of State by all 67 counties showed Dumas, a Democrat, leading Crompton, a Republican, by nearly 17,000 votes.

The Commonwealth Court is set to welcome a new judge on its bench after Judge Drew Crompton announced that he is conceding to Philadelphia Judge Lori Dumas in the wake of a mandated vote recount of the Nov. 2 general election.
Crompton, a former top legislative aide who was appointed to the intermediate appeals court in 2020 to fill a vacancy, conceded the race on Twitter on Tuesday.
