Two federal judges considered pioneers for their work in re-shaping judicial involvement in the supervised release of criminal defendants called on their colleagues this week to take up their own efforts to reduce recidivism among ex-offenders.

In a virtual event hosted by the University of Pennsylvania Law School, Judges L. Felipe Restrepo and Richard M. Berman touted the success of two programs designed to place federal judges squarely in the middle of the supervised-release and re-entry process.
