Longtime Stevens & Lee partner James Schwartzman has been elected president judge of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s Court of Judicial Discipline, taking the helm of the court responsible for hearing judicial misconduct cases from across the state.
Schwartzman, who has been a judge on the court for over two years, was elected by his fellow judges on the eight-person bench. He replaces Jazelle Jones, whose term expired. Schwartzman said in an interview duties will be largely administrative, dealing with budgetary matters and dealing with the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts.
