The Pennsylvania Superior Court has ruled that a man who was found in contempt of a protection from abuse order for posting a picture of himself on Facebook carrying a prop gun at an anti-lockdown protest did not run afoul of the order.

A three-judge panel consisting of Superior Court Judges Victor Stabile and Megan McCarthy King and retired Senior Judge Dan Pellegrini decided in Reitz v. Flower that the lower court that held defendant Matthew Flower in contempt abused its discretion by basing the charge on conduct that was not specifically alleged in the complaint for indirect criminal contempt.
