U.S. Attorney William McSwain of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, appointed by President Donald Trump, has announced his resignation, effective Jan. 22.
The resignation of U.S. attorneys around the time of a transition of administrations is standard practice. McSwain’s announcement comes two weeks after Harrisburg-based U.S. Attorney David Freed said he would step down.
