An attorney asked the Pennsylvania Supreme Court on Wednesday to adopt a standard that would allow corporations to also be held liable for the debts of related entities.
The concept, known as the “enterprise theory” or “single entity theory” for piercing the corporate veil, advanced by Goldberg, Goldberg & Maloney attorney Joel Goldberg in Mortimer v. McCool, would mark a significant change in the doctrine, widening the route for piercing the corporate veil.
