A West Virginia-based Christian boarding school has settled sexual and physical abuse claims brought against it by 29 former residents for $52 million, attorneys for the children announced.

The lawsuit against the now-defunct Miracle Meadows in Harrison County, West Virginia, alleged that staff members of the school for at-risk youth abused children for years, including chaining and shackling children to beds, sexually assaulting them, as well as starving and beating them.
