Over the last seven months, Big Law has learned to live without the office. But does that mean that law firms are willing to bring on new partners in cities where they don’t already have a footprint?

Recruiter Neil Handwerker of N Legal Search in New York believes this is the case. He’s working on behalf of two partners with books of business “significant by New York City standards” who happen to be based in a secondary city. They don’t want to relocate, but they’re looking for opportunities beyond their current international firm, and there aren’t many major players in town.
