What a whirlwind the last six months have been navigating COVID-19.

Our vernacular has changed quite a bit with words such as “pandemic,” and “crisis.” I previously only heard these words used so many times in science fiction movies! We have gained new professional skills that we never thought we would need, such as how to take depositions and run full trials via video. We also have learned to accessorize with masks and make certain to have backups stashed in various locations because, if you are anything like my colleagues and me, you have a dozen or more masks, but have difficulty remembering to take one along. This time in our lives has taken a while to get used to, but I think we are finally settling into the uncertainty—a feat of monumental proportions considering that as lawyers, we usually like to be in control of everything.
