After ruling last year that attorneys can petition to recover fees under the Unfair Trade Practice and Consumer Protection Law for time they spent preparing and litigating fee petitions, the Pennsylvania Superior Court has made a similar ruling with regard to the Motor Vehicle Financial Responsibility Law.

In Jackson v. USAA, a three-judge panel of the Superior Court unanimously ruled April 30 to affirm a Philadelphia trial judge’s $38,850 fee award to plaintiff Debra Jackson and against defendant insurer USAA.
