A man who allegedly suffered a brain injury while performing a leak test on an industrial hose has lost his bid to have a products liability lawsuit reinstated against two companies that designed and manufactured some of the testing equipment.

A unanimous three-judge panel of the Pennsylvania Superior Court ruled Friday in Urbieta v. All-American Hose that plaintiffs Eric and Kristi Urbieta failed to provide sufficient causation evidence to proceed with their claims against Hagerty Precision Tool Inc. and Lewco International. The ruling affirmed a decision by the Erie County Court of Common Pleas.
