Practice Profile: Weil is an intellectual property lawyer with a focus on patent litigation. He has represented some of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world in litigation. His practice encompasses rare technologies including monoclonal antibody therapies, biosimilars, DNA diagnostics and medical devices. Leadership Activity: He serves at the firm’s Philadelphia office representative on chair-associates committee, which consists of associates or counsel from the office that meets with firm management twice a year to discuss the status of the firm and potential initiatives the firm should consider based on associate/counsel input. Also, in the course of that role, Weil worked with the firm’s chief diversity and inclusion officer to start the Philadelphia office inclusion council. Pro Bono and Civic Work: Weil maintains a very active pro bono practice, having played a crucial role in the firm’s collaboration with top-flight academic and nongovernmental organizations as well as other law firms, pro bono representation of the families of eight murdered Bolivian citizens in vital litigation in the United States.
