The Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office is seeking to file an amicus brief supporting Frank Fina in the ex-prosecutor’s fight against disciplinary charges, citing, among other things, the very public feud between the embattled attorney and former Attorney General Kathleen Kane as a complicating factor in the case.

Fina, best known as the lead prosecutor in the case against convicted child molester Jerry Sandusky, is facing disciplinary action over his conduct during the investigation of three former Penn State administrators, who were later convicted for their alleged roles in covering up Sandusky’s abuse. The disciplinary action stems from claims that Fina failed to get proper judicial approval before calling Penn State’s former general counsel, Cynthia Baldwin, to testify before a grand jury about the three former university officials.
