The Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s Disciplinary Board has suspended a Philadelphia attorney for one year for, among other misconduct, representing a group of campus sexual assault victims and then later filing a defamation lawsuit on behalf of a man one of them had accused of sexual assault.

On Monday, the board issued its order and accompanying recommendation for discipline against employment lawyer Raul Jauregui. In addition to the conflict-of-interest charges that contributed to his yearlong suspension, Jauregui was charged with making misrepresentations to the Office of Disciplinary Counsel, filing frivolous litigation and failing to comply with court orders.
