In honor of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, Blank Rome and the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Pennsylvania hosted “#ThisIsAmerica: A Conversation About Race in America,” on May 22 at Blank Rome’s Philadelphia office.

The event featured a partial viewing of #ThisisAmerica, a timely documentary created by 6abc’s Nydia Han, followed by a panel conversation about race in America.


Martin Law attorneys and staff participated in the 10th annual Plane Pull event to support the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House on May 5 at Atlantic Aviation.

Martin plane pullers were one of 35 teams who hit the tarmac to pull an airplane in the fastest time.

Leading up to the event, each participating team was tasked with raising the entrance fee of $2,500 for the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House.

This has been Martin Law’s third year in participating in this event and it finished within the top five for the first time, with a pull time of 11:95 seconds.

The Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House hosted this event, in partnership with Philly Jet Service and Atlantic Aviation.


Goldberg, Miller & Rubin’s Matt Moroney spoke to the Pennsylvania Auto Crime Investigators Association, whose members include law enforcement and insurance investigators, on the topic of runners and patient solicitation, including how to identify these situations and their legal impact.

Moroney co-chairs Goldberg Miller’s insurance and health care fraud litigation department. He counsels insurance carriers on multi-claim investigations involving health care providers located in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland.

Moroney and his team analyze complex data, including medical records and billing, on an individual and multi-claim basis to identify questionable patterns and to assess potential fraud.


David Keller, Barley Snyder of counsel, was honored by the Lancaster Chamber with its Exemplar Award.

Keller is a former managing partner at the firm.

Keller has supplemented decades of work within the employment and education practice groups at Barley Snyder with community contributions of volunteerism throughout Lancaster County.

He has previously served as a board member and chair with Lancaster Chamber, the Lancaster Alliance and the Economic Development Company of Lancaster County.


The Pennsylvania Bar Association presented awards that recognize outstanding leadership in the legal profession and extraordinary service and long-standing membership in the association.

Those honorees include:

Bernard C. John of PNC Financial Services Group, PBA President’s Award for his work on the good governance task force assuring that the pathway to PBA leadership positions was well understood by PBA members.

Louis B. Kushner of Rothman Gordon, 50-Year Member Award.

Thomas E. Lippard of Pittsburgh: 50-Year Member Award.

Louis B. Loughren of Loughren Loughren & Loughren, 50-Year Member Award.

Jacqueline B. Martinez of JBM Legal, PBA President’s Award for her work on the good governance task force assuring that the pathway to PBA leadership positions was well understood by PBA members.

Edward E. McGinley Jr. of UPMC Legal Department, 50-Year Member Award.
