Flaster Greenberg shareholder and family law attorney Steven B. Sacharow is set to participate as a panelist at the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education's Hot Tips in Family Law seminar from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 10.

This year's Hot Tips in Family Law plans to provide fresh perspectives and new takeaways about how to prepare for and try family law cases.

Sacharow”s family law representation of clients includes matters involving child custody, parenting time, child support, alimony and equitable distribution of assets.

It also consists of legal aspects of relationship formation including cohabitation and prenuptial agreements.

Landman Corsi Ballaine & Ford added Rachel Shields to its firm.

Shields handles a wide range of matters in the Pennsylvania and New Jersey courts.

Her practice areas include the Federal Employers' Liability Act and transportation litigation, commercial vehicle liability, premises liability, asbestos-related toxic torts, personal injury and a variety of commercial claims.

She received her law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law.

Elected and Appointed

Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young associate Kristen M. Feden was appointed to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court's Criminal Procedural Rules Committee.

The committee is an advisory arm to the Supreme Court and assists the court in achieving its constitutional mandate to prescribe general rules governing criminal practice and procedure throughout Pennsylvania.

The committee also monitors all local criminal rules as required by Pennsylvania Rule of Criminal Procedure 105 and periodically publishes reports explaining the committee's proposals for new rules and rule amendments.

Feden concentrates her practice on complex commercial and class action litigation and white-collar defense.

Prior to joining Stradley Ronon, Feden was an assistant district attorney in the Trials Division of the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office where she served as captain of the elder abuse unit and the domestic violence unit, and as a member of the sex crimes unit.

Duane Morris lawyer Vincent F. Garrity Jr. is the recipient of the sixth annual W. Edward Sell Business Lawyer Award, which is scheduled to be presented at the 2017 Business Law Institute on Nov. 14-15 in Philadelphia.

Garrity spent the entirety of his career at Duane Morris practicing in the areas of business law, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance.

After becoming a partner at the firm in 1970, he went on to serve as co-chairman of its corporate section, a member of its partners board and director of the firm's professional standards.

Gabriela Raful, an associate attorney at Galfand Berger, received the Berks County Bar Association's Presidential Award of Merit in recognition of her contribution and service to the community and legal profession.

She earned her law degree from Widener University School of Law.

While at law school, she was a member and then the president of the International Law Society.

As a native of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Raful is fluent in Spanish.

Prior to earning her law degree, Raful worked for three years as a Social Security and workers' compensation paralegal.

She was also a court interpreter in personal injury and immigration hearings.
