Texas Supreme Court Justice Don Willett has had a huge year. On May 13th, Willett authored Morath v. Texas Taxpayer and Student Fairness Coalition, which blessed Texas’ “Byzantine” public school finance system as constitutional—the most important decision of the state high court’s recently concluded 2015-2016 term.

And days after he issued that decision, Willett was listed as one of eleven people Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump would consider naming to the U.S. Supreme Court.
