Conservative lawyers and judges mourned the passing of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, especially in Texas where the jurist served for more than 20 years as the liason to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Scalia was the first Italian-American to serve on the court when he was nominated by President Ronald Reagan in 1986 and soon became a hero to the conservative movement with his “originalism” view of the U.S. Constitution and his stinging dissents that would often outrage liberals.
