Through his years of representing plaintiffs in toxic tort cases, David Greenstone is well aware of the financial benefits available to cancer patients who contract the always expensive and often fatal disease—if they have a viable cause of action against a corporate defendant.
But not every cancer patient or her family has the ability to offset the emotional and monetary toll through a lawsuit, Greenstone said. So beginning next year, Greenstone and his law firm, Simon Greenstone Panatier Bartlett, will begin offering up to $50,000 in annual scholarships to Dallas County students whose lives have been disrupted by cancer. The fund is aimed at public and private high school seniors planning to attend college in the fall of 2015.
