P. Anthony Lannie, executive vice president and general counsel of Apache Corp., is using Bracewell & Giuliani in the Houston oil and gas exploration and production company’s pending sale of its Argentina operations to YPF Sociedad Anonima for $852 million.

YPF, based in Buenos Aires, turned to Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy in New York City and Estudio O’Farrell in Argentina, according to information provided by Bracewell.

On Feb. 12, Apache and subsidiaries announced an agreement to sell all of its Argentina operations to YPF for $800 million in cash and $52 million in assumed debt. YPF paid a $50 million deposit, and the acquisition is expected to be completed within a month.

The Bracewell lawyers for Apache include partners G. Alan Rafte and Michael De Voe Piazza, both of Houston; Alastair Young of London; and Michael Hefter and Elizabeth McGinley, both of New York. Associates Olga Galin of London and Vivian Ouyang and Shujun Tian, both of New York, are also working on the transaction.

Estudio O’Farrell did not immediately respond to an emailed request for the names of lawyers working on the transaction. The names were not immediately available from Milbank.
