To arrive at this impressive list, the editorial department sought nominations of lawyers who have achieved significant victories as well as displayed a track record of wins in which they prevailed in high-stakes cases; won large monetary awards; successfully defended against action seeking substantial damages; handled first-of-their-kind or bet-the company suits; or claimed victory in litigation that had a national or statewide impact. Texas Lawyer published the Go-To Guide on December 10, 2012.
On December 7, 2012, Texas Lawyer celebrated the honorees with a luncheon at the Belo Mansion in downtown Dallas. Chief District Judge Sidney A. Fitzwater was the keynote speaker.
