Judge Sharen Wilson owes Amarillo. But for the windblown Panhandle town where she grew up, Wilson might not be on the bench today. In the fifth grade, Wilson decided she wanted to become a lawyer. After graduating from high school in 1975, Wilson started at Amarillo College and finished her advertising/public relations degree at Texas Tech University in 1978. She stayed at Tech for law school and graduated in 1980. Wilson says that while she loved criminal law, she earned better grades in corporate law. Now she's judge of Tarrant County Criminal District Court No. 1.
