Paul Daugerdas, a former tax partner at Jenkens & Gilchrist, whose participation in a fraudulent tax shelter scheme contributed to the demise of the Dallas-founded firm, was among 1,500 criminals who had their sentences commuted in December 2024 by President Joe Biden.

Daugerdas, sentenced in 2014 to 15 years in prison, had been serving his time in New York, but was no longer in custody of the Bureau of Prisons as of Dec. 20, 2024, according to public records on the BOP website. He is now 74.
