A qui tam Medicare fraud lawsuit on behalf of the United States, Texas and the relator alleging millions of dollars in fraud turned out to be a nothing burger, according to a federal judge in the Southern District of Texas.
Cornerstone Regional Hospital LP and orthopedic surgeon in residence, Dr. Raul A. Marquez, were sued by a medical devices salesman who alleged Marquez arranged for physicians from Mexico who were unlicensed to practice in the United States to perform surgical and other medical procedures on patients over a period of years.
