Coats Rose fired an attorney after receiving a complaint from the Houston Lawyers Association about an attack letter he sent to an immigration judge.
The offended judge, Erica Hughes, is also running to unseat Harris County 151st District Court Judge Mike Engelhart.
Coats Rose said the attorney, Ben Aderholt, was let go the day after the firm learned of the letter.

Coats Rose fired an attorney after receiving a complaint from the Houston Lawyers Association about an attack letter the lawyer sent to an immigration judge running for a district court seat.

Erica Hughes, a federally appointed judge, described the letter as “threatening and harassing” in an interview with Fox 26 Houston.
