"Anyone, other than a justice or judge, commits a Class A misdemeanor offense if that person knowingly discloses, wholly or partly, the contents of any non-public judicial work product," according to SB 372.

What You Need to Know

The Texas Legislature created a criminal offense for persons leaking a judge's or justice's work product.
The legislature also amended law on qualifications for a visiting judge, and put certain prosecutors' pay on parity with judges.

The Texas Legislature wrapped the 88th regular session Monday, and many bills passed affect the Texas Judicial Branch, including the five described in detail here.
