PayPal Holdings was slapped with a patent infringement lawsuit Saturday in Texas Western District Court in connection with its PayPal and Venmo services. The lawsuit, brought by Kent & Risley on behalf of ScanComm LLC, asserts a single patent related to payment via QR code. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 6:23-cv-00009, ScanComm LLC v. PayPal, Inc.
