A North Texas real estate attorney who took on a death penalty case under false pretense was handed a six-year suspension by the State Bar of Texas.

The state bar meted out one disbarment, accepted a resignation in lieu of discipline, seven suspensions and nine public reprimands, according to the disciplinary report released Friday. The disciplinary actions include public reprimands for two Bell County prosecutors who misused evidence and testimony to wrongfully convict a man of armed robbery.
