Breathing machines used to treat sleep apnea are at the heart of a new set of class actions, this time focused on SoClean Inc., the manufacturer of products that sanitize the devices.

The lawsuits come after manufacturer Philips issued a June 14 recall of more than 3 million of its breathing machines, such as CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) and other devices, citing sound abatement foam that can degrade. This month, the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation transferred 115 lawsuits over the Philips recall to the Western District of Pennsylvania.
