A federal court found the U.S. government was negligent and liable to mass shooting victims of the 2017 Sutherland Springs church shooting, where a former U.S. Air Force service member killed 26 people and injured 22 more.

The government failed to report the gunman’s previous felony domestic violence convictions from the military justice system to the national gun background check system.
