A New Jersey law firm that lost $119,000 in an alleged Nigerian internet scam is claiming in a civil lawsuit that Citibank negligently ignored signs of fraud in an account held by the alleged perpetrators.
Scura, Wigfield, Heyer, Stevens & Cammarota lost the funds after the firm received an email from someone calling himself Miguel Francisco, who was seeking help with an employment dispute over severance pay.
