A Houston judge has failed to overturn an ethics sanction for being undignified and discourteous by grabbing the arm of a paralegal and telling her to leave a courtroom section reserved for attorneys.

Judge Lee Harper Wilson of Harris County Criminal Court-at-Law No. 10 appealed his public admonition to a special court of review, which is an appointed panel of three appellate judges. In a ruling released on Tuesday, the special court upheld the public admonition, although it did tweak the Texas Commission on Judicial Conduct’s order that made Wilson take sexual harassment training. Instead, Wilson must get training about proper courtroom decorum.
