A Texas attorney has lost his law license for forging a dead client’s will to name himself as the sole beneficiary and then stealing more than $200,000 from the client’s estate and heirs.

John S. Young, who was convicted of forgery, theft and money laundering, decided to voluntarily resign his license because he faced a lawyer discipline case that alleged his crimes amounted to professional misconduct as an attorney. The Texas Supreme Court accepted the resignation this month and ordered Young to surrender his bar license.
