In a game of musical chairs at the Fourth Court of Appeals in San Antonio, Gov. Greg Abbott has appointed a new justice to replace one who moved up to chief to fill a retirement.
Judge Lori Valenzuela will become the new Place 7 justice on the Fourth Court. The appointment is effective immediately and Valenzuela will serve until December 2022 and then face reelection to keep the seat.
