While lateral hiring in energy practices is down industrywide, Reed Smith continues to build its energy team, taking the chair of McGuireWoods’ energy practice in Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh dealmaker Ryan Purpura has joined Reed Smith’s global energy and natural resources industry group as a partner. He officially joined the firm late last month, but the firm held off on announcing his arrival because he was busy closing a deal. He said he expects between two and seven lawyers will follow him over to Reed Smith in the near future.
