Whether it’s because lawyers are going stir crazy at home or because law firms have truly lost something significant by transitioning to remote work, there has been a growing dialogue about returning to the office once the coronavirus pandemic subsides. But the office itself may not look the same as lawyers left it.

With partial or full-time remote work expected to remain an option at most firms even once the health crisis has ended, many are contemplating changes to their private offices. The spacious room of one’s own that has long held near-mythical status for many lawyers could soon be a thing of the past. For many, it may be time to close the door on closing the door.
