The near future looked bleak for a South Florida woman after a federal judge sentenced her to 40 months’ incarceration and ordered her to pay $1.6 million in restitution for a fortune-telling fraud targeting a Texas victim.

Sherry Tina Uwanawich, 28, who also called herself Jacqueline Miller, got the sentence from U.S. District Judge Rodolfo A. Ruiz in the Southern District of Florida. She pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud.
