Thomas L. Ausley, a family law attorney with over five decades of experience, has been recognized by the Texas Bar Foundation, which recently presented him with the Outstanding 50 Year Lawyer Award. Ausley adds the accolade to a long list of career accomplishments. Over his 50-year career, Ausley has gone from a young lawyer successfully representing general civil cases to co-founding what is today one of Texas’ premier family law firms GoransonBain Ausley, a firm of Dallas, Plano and Austin lawyers focused solely on family law. During his notable career, he has served as chair of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Texas, as well as a member of the Board of Governors of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and president of the Texas Chapter. Ausley, and his wife, Robbie, have four children and 10 grandchildren. He currently lives in Austin. Ausley is also proud that his daughter Kelly Ausley-Flores, and granddaughter, Jenae Flores, have both chosen the career of a family law attorney. Kelly is a partner with his firm, and Jenae will be joining the firm as an associate with in the firm’s Austin office. “It brings me a great deal of pride, knowing their commitment, integrity, and compassion to family law will make a difference in the lives of the clients  and families they will serve,” Ausley said in a statement. 

Appointment

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) has announced its new Board of Directors. Malinda Gaul, president of AAUW Texas, was chosen as board vice chair. Gaul practices employment law in San Antonio ,and has worked with several nonprofit organizations to advance the rights of women. She chaired the labor and employment law section of the State Bar of Texas and was the president of the Texas Employment Lawyers Association. She has served in a variety of AAUW positions at all levels, and is currently President of AAUW Texas for a second time.
