Ross Fischer, a partner in The Gober Group in Austin and a former assistant chief disciplinary counsel to the State Bar of Texas, has become the bar board’s general counsel.
Fischer’s election June 20 by a unanimous vote of the bar’s board of directors marks the first time that the position of general counsel at the State has been filled since 2010. The bar board had voted unanimously in January to approve the hiring of a general counsel, a statutory position under the State Bar Act.
