Jennifer Robinson, managing shareholder of Littler Mendelson’s Nashville office, and David Jordan, a Houston shareholder, have been named co-chairs of their firm’s hospitality industry group. Robinson has been a labor and employment litigator for more than two decades. Jordan focuses his practice on employment counseling and litigation, including all aspects of labor relations and employment law. He spent almost 10 years in the hospitality industry before he began practicing law.

New Positions

Abbey B. Garber, formerly with the Office of Chief Counsel at the Internal Revenue Service, has joined Thompson & Knight as a partner in the firm’s Dallas office. Garber is in Thompson & Knight’s tax practice group. He has tried cases of all sizes in the United States Tax Court.

New Office

Craig Stahl, a litigation partner in Haynes and Boone, will serve as administrative partner of the firm’s new office in The Woodlands, which is expected to boost its energy practice. Stahl has been joined by Bill McDonald, a corporate partner, and Jeffrey T. Kuehnle, a commercial litigation partner, as well as by Emmie Gooch, a counsel and energy litigator. The new office is the firm’s 16th worldwide. It is located in Waterway Square, the central business district of The Woodlands.

Felicity Fowler, a labor and employment lawyer, has joined McGinnis Lochridge and heads up the firm’s new Dallas office, while splitting her time between Houston and Dallas. Donald D. Jackson, an energy litigation attorney, has joined McGinnis Lochridge in Houston. Both Fowler and Jackson previously were partners in Haynes and Boone, where Fowler served on the board of directors, and Jackson headed the oil and gas litigation practice group.

Award

Keri Brown, a Houston partner in Baker Botts and chair of its pro bono committee, will receive the State Bar of Texas 2018 Pro Bono Coordinator Award at the Bar Leaders Recognition Luncheon on June 21. The Houston Bar Association nominated Brown for the award.

Honors

Manuel Vera, a Houston partner in Bracewell, has been named to The Legal 500 Private Practice Power List: U.S.-Mexico, published by Legalease. Vera is licensed in Mexico.

Katherine Compton, a Dallas partner in Lewis Brisbois, has been elected to membership in the Fellows of the Texas Bar Foundation. Compton is in the firm’s complex business and commercial litigation practice.
