Kevin T. Schutte has joined the Dallas office of Shapiro Bieging Barber Otteson as a partner. Schutte focuses his practice on general commercial and business litigation, both at the trial and appellate court levels, as well as on arbitration and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. He previously was a partner in Bracewell’s Dallas office.
Lev Prichard V has joined Thompson & Knight as an associate in the firm’s finance practice group in the Dallas office. He advises clients in connection with business transactions, focusing chiefly on mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance matters in the energy sector and other industries. Prior to joining Thompson & Knight, he was an associate at Squire Patton Boggs.
Desmond T. Jenkins has joined The Bassett Firm in Dallas as an associate. His practice areas include construction litigation, insurance defense, personal injury and premises liability. Jenkins previously was an attorney at DeHay & Elliston.
Carmen Roe, founder and owner of Carmen Roe Law Firm in Houston, has been elected to the board of directors for the State Bar of Texas. Roe defeated Courtney T. Carlson, a Houston partner in Jackson Walker, in the runoff election for the District 4, Place 5 seat on the board. Roe received 50.5 percent of the 3,387 votes cast in the election held May 10 – May 24.
Luis F. Gomar, a partner in Thompson & Knight and leader of the firm’s Mexico City office, has been elected to the board of advisors for Holocaust Museum Houston for a two-year term. Gomar practices in Thompson & Knight’s Houston and Mexico City offices. He is in the international energy practice group.
Munsch Hardt Kopf Harr is expanding its Houston office in Pennzoil Place by more than 40 percent to accommodate future growth. The firm will occupy an additional 8,800 square feet for a total of 30,000 square feet on floors 26 and 27 of the building. The official move-in date is set for mid-September.
