Good morning and welcome to Supreme Court Brief! The justices will wrap up the first week of their December argument session with a case about the Quiet Title Act. We checked in on an amicus brief by Pillsbury Winthrop partner Daniel Bromberg, who says what the case means for local governments. An article by John Harrison of the University of Virginia law school was at the center of one of the U.S. solicitor general’s arguments Tuesday in the immigration challenge, and it caused some rare humor in that two-plus-hour session.
